Fret Dress & Set Up
Frets are dressed, re-profiled and polished to a mirror finish. The set up includes adjusting the truss rod, the top nut, the action, the intonnation (where adjustable) and the tremolo system. The guitar is then re-strung. Read more about fret dressing.

Fret Work
Includes – Complete Refrets/Partial Refrets/Loose Frets
If only a few frets are loose, worn or damaged then the affected frets are removed and replaced. If wear or damage is not confined to just a few frets then the entire fingerboard is refretted.

Fingerboards
Fingerboards which are worn or damaged can be repaired or replaced. Replacement boards can either be custom made or a standard one ordered on request.

Saddles
To improve the playability of acoustic guitars the height of the saddle can be adjusted. Damaged, worn or broken saddles can be replaced using either bone or synthetic materials.

Top Nuts
As with saddles, top nuts can also be adjusted to facilitate ease of playing and clarity of tone. Worn, damaged or broken top nuts can be replaced using either bone, brass or synthetic materials.

Bridge Work
Acoustic bridges can be adjusted to improve string height and intonation problems. Saddle slots can be re-cut to improve piezo pickup contact. Damaged or broken bridges can be repaired or replaced, and may be custom made if required.

Wiring
Replacement, repair and fitting of switches & jack sockets, and volume & tone controls. A selection of these are kept in stock. Earthing and rewiring can be also be carried out to reduce or eliminate excessive hum.

Pre-amps
New pre-amp systems can be fitted in conjunction with a pick-up to amplify acoustic instruments. Broken pre-amps can also be replaced.

Pick-up Fitting
Changing the pickups on a guitar can transform the tone and is a popular choice of upgrade for players who are looking for a change of sound without having to purchase a new guitar.

Action/Intonation/Tremolo Adjustment
Adjustments to the action, intonation and tremolo help to facilitate ease of playing and tuning stability. This is achieved by adjusting the saddles to the correct height and position to suit the individual player and string gauge.

Strap Buttons/Knobs/Machine Heads etc
Replacing and fitting strap buttons, knobs, machine heads, scratchplates etc, is fairly straightforward. A small stock of various parts are held in store and most other parts can be ordered in quickly.

Structural Repairs
Instruments suffering from severe damage, neglect or heavy wear and tear can usually be repaired – examples include broken headstocks, necks & truss rods, loose struts & braces, and damaged bodies. View repair photos.
